Stone Fox is a book about a little boy who's grandpa is deathly ill. Doc Smith has told Willie that his grandpa doesn't want to live anymore thats why he will not get up. He's still alive but he doesn't want to be. Willie is going to compete in a dog sled race and hopefully get money to help his grandpa.
