I am reading A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeline L'Engle. It is about a family whose father is missing. Meg and her littlest brother, Charles Wallace, must go find him with their friend Calvin. They have help from Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. They travel through time and space to a "dark planet" to save Mr. Murrey from IT. During the book, Meg learns that she is special, just in a different way than most people.

Because IT is super powerful and they have to work really hard just to get away from IT with their father.
